‘You are the light of the world. Let your light shine before others.’ Matthew 5: 14-16

The School

Vision

To achieve progress for all and to flourish as individuals.  Taking pride in our behaviour, friendships, efforts and achievements and actively sharing our experiences with the whole community. To be a catalyst for the greater good.

Based upon: ‘You are the light of the world. Let your light shine before others.’ Matthew 5: 14-16

Ethos and Values

As a Church of England school, our links with the local church and community are of great importance to us. Our Christian ethos and values provide the foundation of the school’s mission and they are what bind our whole school community together. We endeavour to create a compassionate environment which engenders care for one another, just as Jesus taught us. This enables us all to grow through learning together, helping each other to shine brightly. The values which underpin all that we do are chosen by the children themselves and are explored through our daily collective worship and in religious education (RE) and personal, social and health education (PSHE) lessons. Our values are:

  • Thankfulness
  • Forgiveness
  • Friendship
  • Trust
  • Endurance
  • Hope

Daily Operation

Our Breakfast Club is open from 7.45 am each day – a chance for children to have breakfast at school and take part in an early morning activity (booking details are available on request from the school office).  The school day starts at 8.30 am for all children.  Parents of the Reception children often take them to their classroom, a good opportunity to talk to the teacher and to support children in their organisation.  Older children walk straight into class. Every morning we meet together for Collective Worship at 10:00.  Children have a short break at 10.15am and break for lunch at 12.00 pm.  We offer a range of hot meals throughout the week or children are welcome to bring their own packed lunches (details of contents are given in our Whole School Food Policy). Afternoon school begins with registration at 1 pm and is divided into two sessions, ending at 3.00pm.  We now run after school care for all children from 3.00 pm to 5.45 pm Monday to Friday.

The school is open for 32.5 hours a week for each Key Stage. Adding on before and after school provision we are open for 50 hours a week.
