"Let your light shine." Matthew 5:16
“You are the light of the world. Let your light shine before others” (Matthew 5:16)
Our school vision is to achieve progress for all. We believe that every pupil has the right to progress and fulfil their potential throughout their time with us. We welcome children and their families to our school community and strive to work in partnership for the benefit of every pupil and the wider community we serve. We provide pupils with an active, broad and stimulating curriculum. Our methods of teaching inspire and challenge pupils, embracing their curiosity and helping nurture a lifelong love of learning. We instil in them the skills, knowledge and attitude to confidently tackle the next phase of their education. We also aim to prepare pupils for the challenges of life, instilling in them positive attitudes, confidence, resilience and an acceptance that they are responsible for their own decisions in life. Most importantly, we want each child to shine and be the best that they can be.
Ethos and Values
As a Church of England school, our links with the local church and community are of great importance to us. Our Christian ethos and values provide the foundation of the school’s mission and they are what bind our whole school community together. We endeavour to create a compassionate environment which engenders care for one another, just as Jesus taught us. This enables us all to grow through learning together, helping each other to shine brightly. The values which underpin all that we do are chosen by the children themselves and are explored through our daily collective worship and in religious education (RE) and personal, social and health education (PSHE) lessons. Our values are:
